Firmware-update: Popcorn Hour C-300 05-02-120710-23-POP-420-000 (public rc 6)

Syabas Technology heeft nieuwe firmware vrijgegeven voor de Popcorn Hour C-300, die vooralsnog als bèta uitgegeven wordt. Deze zogenoemde Networked Media Tank kan audio en video van de optionele harde schijf afspelen, maar ook zonder harde schijf is het apparaat goed te gebruiken. Content kan dan vanaf een nas-systeem of computer worden gestreamd. Het bijwerken van de firmware kan door het zipbestand naar de root van een usb-geheugenstick uit te pakken en vervolgens vanuit het menu naar het bestand 'usbupdate.html' te browsen. Ervaringen uitwisselen over deze speler kan in dit topic op GoT. Versie 05-02-120710-23-POP-420-000 voegt weinig nieuwe mogelijkheden toe, maar verhelpt wel een aantal problemen.

Totaal geen last van...
Heeft je C300 een vast IP adres?
Staan de ondertitels op een andere NAS,
of zijn eigen SATA disk (Ext3 formatted),
of de "External Disk (SATA)" NTFS/Fat32 formatted?

Waarom?
Als ie een DHCP IP adres heeft, en de titels staan op een andere NAS, ben je ze niet kwijt, maar mist ie gewoon de verbinding naar die andere NAS.
Even je netwerk omgeving voorzien van een vast IP adres, en de toegevoegde NFS / Samba Shares en Accounts om die share te bezoeken.

Jou uitleg over de missende subs slaat kant nog wal... waarom zou de verbinding naar de andere NAS niet werken wanneer de C-3000 een 'DHCP adres' heeft? Jou verhaal gaat alleen op wanneer de target een ander IP adres heeft en de NAS connectie op basis van IP adres en niet op basis van hostnaam wordt gemaakt. Wanneer de titels op een NAS staan die de C-300 niet kan bereiken, dan kan de C-300 de film al niet eens afspelen. Want zonder netwerkverbinding wel de films maar niet de subs afspelen op een onbereikbare target lijkt me onmogelijk...

Same here... Gisteren nog een MKVtje bekeken met ondertiteling. Nadat ik de update een uurtje geleden heb uitgevoerd toont datzelfde MKVtje (en alle anderen) geen ondertitels meer. Hoe is het mogelijk dat dit per apparaat verschilt?

Geen enkele storing gehad, ligt waarschijnlijk gewoon aan jou manier van configuratie. Ik heb 0 problemen gehad, en hij loopt als een zonnetje!

Edit:
Met "jou manier van configuratie" bedoel ik een vast IP adres, want je Popcornhour is ook een NAS apparaat, en om nu een NAS (server) een DHCP IP adres te geven, is echt niet slim....

Werkt prima. Nog steeds het probleem met vooruitspoelen naar bijvoorbeeld 60% of 70% dat de ondertiteling van een mkv niet meer werkt. Nu de A-300 nog!

Helaas veel netwerkproblemen met deze update, snel maar weer de vorige terug gezet. Ik kan deze update nu NIET aanraden!

Krijgt de A-210 ooit nog weer een update?

Die gaat er zeker nog komen. Voor de C200 is er een RC uitgebracht i.p.v. een final omdat ze de C300 versie de deur uit wilden doen en de C200 gebruikers niet langer wilden laten wachten (en alvast de RC laten testen). De A2x versie van de C200 firmware is nog niet uitgebracht omdat de C200 versie te veel fouten bevat (welke de final van de RC moet gaan oplossen). Als deze final uitgebracht wordt zonder al te veel problemen zal de A2x versie na een paar weken volgen.
En dan is het wachten op de volgende versie waarin de UI compleet vervangen wordt door de zelfde (flash) UI als de 300-serie. Maar dat zal nog wel even duren.
