Niet iedereen is even gelukkig met Windows Verkenner voor het beheren van de bestanden op de computer. Enkele alternatieven die regelmatig in de Meuktracker voorbijkomen zijn Total Commander, Directory Opus en Q-Dir. Van Zweedse bodem komt Multi Commander, dat zich net als de voorgaande programma's kenmerkt door de dubbele schermen, die kopiëren van bestanden eenvoudig maken. Daarnaast zijn er uitgebreide mogelijkheden om bestanden te bekijken, aan te passen, te hernoemen of te zoeken. Multi Commander is gratis, heeft aparte downloads voor 32bit- en 64bit-systemen, en is nog geen 5MB groot. Zondag is versie 2.0.0 uitgekomen en de belangrijkste veranderingen die daarin zijn aangebracht kunnen hieronder worden gevonden.

- Unpacking of RAR archives that are password protected are now supported.
- CustomCommand MC.FileSystem.Rename now works.
- Showing file date as file age does now show the correct time. Was sometimes wrong by a couple of hours.
