De zesde bètarelease van NewsBin Pro versie 6.01 is uitgekomen. NewsBin Pro is bedoeld om bestanden zoals foto's, films en programma's van usenet te halen. Deze bestanden kunnen in losse pakketjes van een of meer nieuwsservers worden gedownload en worden aan de ontvangende kant weer in elkaar gezet. Sinds versie 6.00 maakt de interface gebruik van tabs en is er er een cache to memory-optie die, als een machine over ruim voldoende geheugen beschikt, de constante toegang tot de harde schijf vermindert. Versie 6.01 bevat voornamelijk bugfixes en kleine verbeteringen. In deze release zijn de volgende veranderingen doorgevoerd:
Changes in version 6.01 bèta 6 build 1255:
- In Autopar, added a mode to start unpausing and download PAR files on their own, would help autopar do its job for some non-standard posting
- If no complete PAR files are found, now just downloads them all in hopes of finding enough blocks to complete the set.
- Now reports passworded RAR files in the Status column "Passworded RAR - Paused", unless they have been assigned a password.
- New option in download list right click menu "Assign UnRAR Password". Not hooked up yet.
- Fixed AutoPAR to always show the unrar path in the properties.
- Fixed issue where moving the first (subject) column in a list was messing up the ability to click on the icon.
- Changed rubber banding again and re-enabled full row select.
- Significant work to the TCP interface to support future remote control applications. More information is available to registered users in our forums
- Implemented secure authentication for TCP Interface. Authentication is required for all external connections.
- Made change so any file transfers through the TCP interface are restricted to the download pat set within Newsbin for security purposes.
- Implemented an optimization writing to the databases.
- Fixed issue adding a group from groups dialog.
- Made incompletion processing smarter in AutoPAR and determine if more headers are likely or whether assembly should be done.
- Fixed issue where MP3 mode breaks PAR2 repair.
- Unrar to temp wasn't moving the files back out to the folder they belong on.
- Changed task bar icon to only show Play/Pause icon if there is something in the download list
- No longer prompts if you delete something from the download list that doesn't have at least one file already downloaded.
- Changed default to not delete files if the prompting is disabled (when deleting entries from the download list).
