The Document Foundation heeft dinsdag de final release van versie 3.3 van het opensource-officepakket LibreOffice uitgebracht. LibreOffice en The Document Foundation zijn ontstaan nadat een groot aantal ontwikkelaars is weggelopen bij Oracle uit onvrede over hoe Oracle OpenOffice.org aanstuurde. LibreOffice wordt geleverd met een tekstverwerker (Writer), een spreadsheetprogramma (Calc), een presentatieprogramma (Impress), een tekenprogramma (Draw), een databaseprogramma (Base) en een programma om wetenschappelijke notaties te maken (Formula). LibreOffice wordt als één meertalige download aangeboden en is 214MB groot. De belangrijkste verbeteringen ten opzichte van de laatste stabiele versie van OpenOffice.org zijn hieronder op een rijtje gezet:
