Distributed.net is een distributed-computingplatform waarop momenteel twee projecten draaien. Aan beide projecten, rc5-72 en ogr-ng, nemen de welbekende Dutch Power Cows deel; deze dappere meiden en jongens staan wereldwijd zelfs op de eerste plek. De ontwikkelaars hebben verschillende pre-releases doorgeschoven naar de pagina met officiële clients, waardoor deze stable verklaard zijn met 2.9109.518 als het versienummer. De Windows-uitgave is voorlopig nog alleen als pre-release te verkrijgen. De aankondig van deze actie ziet er als volgt uit:
New clients released
Several new client versions were promoted to released status today, for a detailed list consult the list of client updates by release date. As always, updating to a more recent client release brings with it performance and usability improvements as well as bug fixes. Consult the most recent changelog for a list of the changes that have occurred. (Check the changelog included with each client for an exact list of changes included.)
For those who want to help with testing the latest and greatest, please peruse the list of prerelease clients available.
