Software-update: TVersity Media Server 1.7.4 bèta

TVersity Media Server stelt je in staat om over het netwerk audio en video te sturen naar dlna-apparatuur, zoals televisies en dvd-spelers met netwerkmogelijkheden. Ook is het mogelijk om media op bijvoorbeeld een Nintendo Wii, Apple iPhone of Sony PSP te bekijken. Een overzicht met alle ondersteunde apparaten is op deze pagina te vinden. De ontwikkelaars hebben al weer even geleden bètaversie 1.7.4 uitgebracht die zowel in een standaard als een pro-smaak is verschenen. De laatste kan voor een kleine dertig dollar of euro worden aangeschaft. De lijst met veranderingen sinds de vorige vermelding in de Meutkracker ziet er als volgt uit:

• Vista UAC - It is no longer required to disable UAC when using TVersity on Vista. TVertsity works well with UAC, and post installation, no UAC prompts will come up except when starting/stopping the sharing service.
• Vista SSDP - It is no longer required to disable the SSDP service on Vista. This allows running other media sharing applications side by side with TVersity. Additionally, the discover-ability of TVersity on the network has been improved.
• GUI - Fixed the GUI problem related to inability to connect to the sharing service (only occurred on system in which local storage was disabled for Flash player 8).
• Security - Apply latest fixes to MSVC runtime with which TVersity is linked.
• Installation Wizard - the installation process has been greatly simplified, there is no need to go through the installation screens of the configuration wizard and codec pack.

Ik ben benieuwd... sinds versie 1.7.x heb ik allerlei vage problemen (als ik de service herstart, ziet mijn tv ineens 2 instances van Tversity op het netwerk, en die instances zijn dan ook nog eens allebei leeg, dus geen content). Ik heb alles al geprobeerd: volledig opschonen van alles wat Tversity is, maar niks helpt. Met oude versie weer terug erop is het altijd meteen goed. Dus ik ben benieuwd of het met deze versie beter is. Hoop van wel, want geen UAC meer nodig, vind ik wel fijn!
