Maandag is de eerste bètarelease verschenen van versie 1.97 van XnView. Met dit programma kunnen meer dan 400 verschillende formaten grafische bestanden worden geopend en geconverteerd. Het programma, dat in meer dan 40 talen beschikbaar is, is voor particulieren en non-profitorganisaties gratis te gebruiken. Normaal gesproken zijn drie verschillende versies beschikbaar: een minimale versie, een standaardversie en een complete versie, waarbij het verschil zit in het aantal ondersteunde formaten en of NConvert meegeleverd wordt. Dit programma heeft ongeveer dezelfde functionaliteit als XnView, maar kan vanaf de command line worden aangestuurd. Van deze bètarelease is alleen de complete versie beschikbaar.
