KMess is een MSN Messenger-client voor het Linux-platform die zich zonder problemen laat integreren in de KDE-desktop. De ontwikkelaars zijn druk bezig geweest met het toevoegen van nieuwe mogelijkheden en het oplossen van verschillende foutjes. Daarom heeft men onlangs de tweede bètaversie van KMess 2.0 de deur uitgedaan. Hierin is onder andere de interface onder handen genomen, de codebase is aangepast aan het gebruik van de KDE 4-libraries en het chat window is voorzien van de nodige uitbreidingen. De bijbehorende aankondiging ziet er als volgt uit:
