Mozilla heeft de eerste bètaversie van de mobiele internetbrowser Fennec online gezet. De browser is op dit moment alleen voor het besturingssysteem Maemo te downloaden, dat op Nokia's N810-internettablet gebruikt wordt. De eerste bèta is ook voor Linux, Mac OS X en Windows te downloaden. Fennec 1.0 bèta 1 wordt onder meer met JavaScript-engine TraceMonkey geleverd en biedt verder ook ondersteuning aan plugins. The idea behind releasing the package for PCs is to give people who don't have a Nokia Internet Tablet the ability to localize, experiment and build add-ons. Note: The desktop version of Fennec is not a supported product.
