Software-update: Mozilla Fennec 1.0 bèta 1

Mozilla heeft de eerste bètaversie van de mobiele internetbrowser Fennec online gezet. De browser is op dit moment alleen voor het besturingssysteem Maemo te downloaden, dat op Nokia's N810-internettablet gebruikt wordt. De eerste bèta is ook voor Linux, Mac OS X en Windows te downloaden. Fennec 1.0 bèta 1 wordt onder meer met JavaScript-engine TraceMonkey geleverd en biedt verder ook ondersteuning aan plugins. Don't have an N810? Don't worry, you can still experiment with Fennec, provide feedback, write add-ons, and get involved by installing a version of Fennec for your desktop PC:

The idea behind releasing the package for PCs is to give people who don't have a Nokia Internet Tablet the ability to localize, experiment and build add-ons. Note: The desktop version of Fennec is not a supported product.

Ziet er goed uit, fijne navigatie, maar niet echt geschikt voor mensen met grote vingers.

Niet echt het probleem van Fennec, ik mag hopen dat het OS een beetje handig om gaat met grote gebieden die ingedrukt worden (grote handen, vingers). En als je dan toch echt van die enorme handen hebt gebruik je maar een pennetje .

Vreemd dat ze deze bètaversie alleen voor de Nokia N810 uitbrengen, terwijl de alfaversie ook voor Windows Mobile was.
