Software-update: Wireshark 1.0.6

Iedereen die dieper ingaat op het onderhouden van netwerk- of communicatieproblemen met een netwerkkaart, kan een zogenoemde packet sniffer gebruiken, zoals Wireshark. Wireshark is een voortzetting van het welbekende Ethereal en is in staat om de data die over het netwerk wordt verstuurd te analyseren en te ontleden in de verschillende gebruikte netwerkprotocollen, zodat het netwerkverkeer in zijn geheel in de gaten kan worden gehouden. Ook is het mogelijk om eerder opgeslagen dataverkeer als invoer voor het programma te gebruiken. Versie 1.0.6 van Wireshark is sinds kort beschikbaar met de volgende lijst van aanpassingen:

• On non-Windows systems, Wireshark could crash if the HOME environment variable contained sprintf-style string formatting characters. Discovered by babi. Versions affected: 0.99.8 to 1.0.5
• Wireshark could crash while reading a malformed NetScreen snoop file. Discovered by babi. Versions affected: 0.99.7 to 1.0.5
• Wireshark could crash while reading a Tektronix K12 text capture file. Versions affected: 0.99.6 to 1.0.5

• Crash when loading capture file and Preferences: NO Info column
• Some Lua scripts may lead to corruption via out of bounds stack
• Build with GLib 1.2 fails with error: 'G_MININT32' undeclared

• ANSI MAP fix for TRN digits/SMS and OTA subdissection
• The 1.0 branch can now be built with Visual Studio 2008.
