Microsoft heeft onlangs de definitieve versie van service pack 1 voor Exchange Server 2007 vrijgegeven. Dit is een stuk serversoftware dat bedoeld is voor messaging- en collaborative-activiteiten, aldus het softwarebedrijf. Concreet houdt dit in dat Exchange Server onder meer gebruikt kan worden als mailserver, en voor het opslaan en uitwisselen van contactpersonen, taken en documenten. De download van het service pack is - afhankelijk van de gekozen taal - ergens tussen de 840,6MB en de 1695,4MB groot. Vooralsnog is een Nederlandse editie niet beschikbaar. - Wider variety of web services for application development, including public folder access, delegate management, and folder level permissions.
- Addition of Standby Continuous Replication (SCR) for site resilient high availability deployments.
- Extended Exchange ActiveSync policies for mobile policy enforcement.
- Information rights management pre-licensing by the Hub Transport role.
- Secure Real Time Protocol (SRTP) support in the Unified Messaging role.
- Support for IPv6 when using Windows Server 2008.
