De ontwikkelaars van VirtualBox hebben in de vorm van 1.5.2 een nieuwe versie van het virtualisatieprogramma beschikbaar gesteld. De update kan via deze pagina onder de PUEL-licentie gedownload worden. VirtualBox stelt je in staat om onder Linux, Mac OS X en Windows een virtuele machine op te zetten. Op deze manier is het mogelijk om bijvoorbeeld meerdere Linux-omgevingen te draaien onder Windows of Mac OS X. VirtualBox wordt in twee smaken beschikbaar gesteld: een opensource en een closedsource versie, die een aantal handige functies extra heeft meegekregen. Denk daarbij aan bijvoorbeeld een iSCSI-initiator of een rdp-server voor elke virtuele machine. Hieronder kan gelezen worden welke veranderingen doorgevoerd zijn in VirtualBox 1.5.2:
