AlmostVPN is een Preference Panel voor het Mac OS X-platform waarmee je verschillende ssh-tunnels in kan stellen. Het gebruikt launchd voor het aansturen van deze ssh-tunnels en kan tunnel definities importeren van de programma's SSH Tunnel Manager, SSH Agent, JellyfiSSH en SSHKeychain. Via de vpn-verbinding kan je op een eenvoudige manier bijvoorbeeld remote volumes aankoppelen, printers aansturen, of gebruiken maken van vnc via een ssh-tunnel. De ontwikkelaar heeft zojuist versie 1.5.2 uitgebracht en voorzien van de volgende lijst met aanpassingen:

- Bug was fixed which prevented AVPN from "remembering" secure information (passwords, activation key) on "virgin" installs. This bug was introduced in 1.5 and affect only people who are installing AVPN for the very first time.
