Op de site van BitComet is vandaag in de vorm van 0.87 een nieuwe versie verschenen van het programma. De nieuwe versie kan door te klikken op deze link naar binnen getankt worden voor Windows en neemt als download ongeveer 6,84 megabyte in beslag. BitComet is een in C++ geschreven BitTorrent-client en stelt je in staat om torrents die aan het uploaden of downloaden zijn, te beheren. Zo is het bijvoorbeeld mogelijk om zelf een torrent te maken en te seeden. Daarnaast kunnen ip-adressen geweerd worden en kan je met andere BitComet-gebruikers chatten. Wat er veranderd is in de nieuwe versie ten opzichte van de vorige release kan hieronder gelezen worden:
