SeaMonkey is de voortzetting van de Mozilla Suite nadat de Mozilla Foundation aankondigde de verdere ontwikkeling hiervan te staken. SeaMonkey beschikt over een webverkenner en een e-mailprogramma die gebruik maken van Gecko 1.8.1. Daarnaast is er ook een nieuwsgroep- en irc-client aanwezig en wordt het geheel volmaakt met een programma om html-bestanden aan te passen. De leden van de SeaMonkey Council hebben twee security releases uitgebracht met 1.1.1 en 1.0.8 als de versienummers en voorzien van de volgende aankondiging:

Following the Gecko security update releases a few days ago, the SeaMonkey project issued new security and stability releases today for its all-in-one internet application suite. SeaMonkey 1.1.1 is now available for download, fixing several security vulnerabilities as well as a list of problems users of SeaMonkey 1.1 reported to developers.
New Features and Fixes:Additionally, the project also released SeaMonkey 1.0.8, which fixes the security vulnerabilites listed above also for the SeaMonkey 1.0 series, without adding the new features available in 1.1 and later versions.
- The URL bar color now indicates SSL security status on Mac OS (previously, the feature was present only in the Windows and Linux versions). Bug 335113
- MAPI is fixed. As a result, File->Send->To mail as attachment... should now work properly in MS Office products. Bug 361233
- Some QuickLaunch issues have been resolved. Bug 368418 (possibly also Bug 368421 and Bug 367756).
- The tab-preview tooltips no longer show a preview for the active tab (part of Bug 368046)
