Software-update: RyanVM's Post-SP2 Update Pack 2.16

Gisteren is versie 2.16 van RyanVM's Post-SP2 Update Pack verschenen. Dit is een verzameling van alle hotfixes die na het tweede Service Pack van Windows XP uitgekomen zijn. De update kan met nLite of de RVM Integrator in een installatie-cd worden geïntegreerd, het zogenaamde slipstreamen. De download is precies 41MB groot en kan net als de RVM Integrator en enkele update packs, zoals DirectX 9.0c en Windows Media Player 10, onderaan deze pagina worden gevonden. Downloaden via BitTorrent is overigens ook mogelijk. Hieronder is te vinden wat er in deze release allemaal veranderd is:

• The home and pro specific folders inside of the updatepacks and addons are now processed before [i386_compress] is processed
• Fixed bug with service pack slipstreaming so that integration will stop if service pack integration fails

maw dit pakket kan je dan gerust downloaden om de genuine controle van MS te omzeilen?

Ja en nee. Je kunt inderdaad een installatie-cd maken met alle updates tot nu toe geïntegreerd. Als je die gebruikt heb je een verse en bijzonder schone installatie (zonder updates die zijn uitgekomen voor updates, zie de vele 'xxx replaces yyy), en zonder dat je de WGA-validatie ook maar 1 maal gezien hebt. Daarna updaten gaat natuurlijk wel via de WU-site en dan moet je wel de WGA passeren.

Of installeer jij elke maand je pc opnieuw?

Jammer genoeg is dit de laatste Nederlandse XP versie
Meulc gaat overstappen op Vista dus brengt vanaf nu alleen nog Vista packs uit. De nodige bugs uit de laatste pakket wil hij nog wel fixen
