Apple heeft een tweede previewversie beschikbaar gesteld van QuickTime 7 for Windows. Deze release volgt de in juni uitgebrachte Public Preview op en is voorzien van versienummer 7.0.2.63. Een van de belangrijkste vernieuwingen in QuickTime 7 is de ondersteuning van de h.264-codec waarmee niet alleen high definition media afgespeeld kan worden, maar ook film op mobiele apparaten bekeken kunnen worden.
