Klipsch S5i rugged Zwart

These are not significantly more durable than average.
The waranty only covers manufacturing defects.
Functionaly mine lasted for ten months of heavy use before they went off ballance, possibly due to a connection problem inside the left bud.
By then they looked pretty bad, the paint comes off a bit and the rubber bits holding the wire at the bud both tore under normal use.
If you wear them over ear the wire rustle is low, otherwise it is distracting.
The audio is good enough.
They are comfortable uless you want to rest your head on a pillow.
The controler is not compatiable with Android devices.
This would all be acceptable if they were cheaper and not marketed as durable, which they are not in any meaningful sense.

Ik zou me er niet bij neerleggen als ze na 10 maanden geen garantie willen verlenen. Zeker als ze het zelf rugged durven te noemen (wat het trouwens overduidelijk niet is, als ik zo de reviews eens bekijk, ziet er allemaal erg fragiel uit, behalve dan die reddingsboot met plus en min erop) en er zoveel geld voor durven vragen, mag je ervan uitgaan dat ze wel een paar jaartjes meegaan bij normaal gebruik.

€129 volgens pricewatch klopt niet helemaal. Meestal kost de S5i ongeveer €100, net als de nieuwere en fleurige S4i.

Ik had vorig jaar de S5i voor €80 besteld van Correct.nl uit Rotterdam.
De S5i gaat daar nu voor €70, maar die (web)winkel is niet op pricewatch vermeld...
Ik had het toen ook alleen gevonden omdat ik het EAN zocht via Google.

Dus is de S5i ongeveer net zo duur als Razer's Hammerhead Pro...

Maar ja, ik heb nu een Klipsch Image S3, en die bevalt me wel. Geen reddingsboot meer die toch niet met mijn smartphone werkt. Ironisch is dat ik die reddingsboot zelf open zou hebben getrokken en er wat weerstandjes in gesoldeerd hebben on het Android compatibel te maken maar ik wou de garantie niet verknoeien.

Wanneer die S3 het begeeft (Feb-2015?) ga ik draadloos;
maar dat dacht ik de vorige keer of drie ook al.
