Tatung V32EMRO

Tatung is one of oldest brand names for TV products in Taiwan. (maybe not well-known here in NL.), with long experience in TV, both CRT and LCD TV. (Also strong for OEM business.) that's why I bought this LCD TV with Tatugn name. I was comparing this one and Mirai (Chimei in Taiwan), but I think Chimei has less experience for TV business, even it's cheaper for Mirai, I still chose Tatung.

I choose this model with HDMI, but there is no DVI interface, only D-Sub for PC connection. As I prefer Digital DVI or HDMI than Analogue D-Sub, so I needed to spend about 20 Euro to buy 1 cable for HDMI to DVI for my Media Center PC, H663 from GIGABYTE.

I didn't have analogue TV signal, I cut UPC analogue last year in replacing with a digital satelite receiver (DVB-s by DREAMBOX), the image quality is very good. (I can't compare it with analogue TV, no comment for UPC poor analogue TV signal) The DREAMBOX is with only SCART out, if I can update it to HD DVB-S with HDMI output, the image will be even improved a lot.

Remote cotroller with quick switching function keys between PC/HDMI, SCART and TV is very helpful.

HDMI (with DVI-HDMI cable with Media Center) can't auto switch from SCART by DVBs Dreambox is not so convinient, but...

Pluspunten

  • Nice design with vivid color.
  • Acceptable price compared with other international brands.
  • Good contract for black-grey levels.

Minpunten

  • HDMI version has no DVI, HDMI-DVI cable is not included.

I didn't use TV for audio output, I've another Kenwood 6-ch amplifier with Optical SPDIF input, as it can't support 6-ch, so SBS, Doby(?) is not import to me.
