Both feature VIA's 694X chipset, which has selectable front side system bus speeds of 66/100/133 MHz. The boards have also been designed to support SDRAM to give users more cost-effective memory solution. The SY-7VCA is expandable to 1.5GB with three 168-pin SDRAM DIMM sockets while the SY-7CM is expandable to 1GB SDRAM. Both boards also include an on board AC 97 CODEC to provide a software audio solution, and one audio/modem riser connector.
The SY-7VCA offers a number of expansion options with five 32-bit PCI slots, one 16-bit ISA slot and universal AGP slot with support for 1x/2x/4x mode graphics. The SY-7VCM features three 32-bit PCI slots, and an AGP slot with support to 4x mode.
