Kingston, fabrikant van geheugenreepjes, heeft bekend gemaakt dat het de prijzen van zijn geheugen produkten met circa 20% verlaagt:
Kingston announces new lower pricing on memory for today's most popular systems. Memory buyers can save an average of 20% on Kingston memory products. Check out a sampling of the decreases below.[...] So, why is Kingston dropping prices? Kingston doesn't take advantage of price increase hype at the chip level. We have always striven to keep our prices consistent and competitive. We don't move our prices at every slight change in DRAM spot prices. We don't take advantage of short-lived DRAM price increases, by passing higher prices onto our customers. When DRAM prices increase, Kingston holds our module prices steady for as long as we can.
Currently, all of the signs in the market show a good chance for prices to come back down from the increases seen in February. In anticipation of this, we have made the move to make it more affordable to upgrade today's most popular systems.
