CPU Review heeft een review klaarliggen van de Altec Lansing ACS54 speakerset. De ACS54 set bestaat uit 4 satellite speakertjes en een subwoofer, goed voor 40W in totaal. Hieronder wat meer info over zijn kwaliteit:
And I was surprised at how (relatively) well it did. Any music that had a heavy bass line took good advantage of the subwoofer, which managed to avoid being too "boomy" - unfortunately the mid-to-high range was a bit "bright".Due to the poor 0.8% THD at 1W mentioned in the specifications you could hear a significant amount of hiss at high volume levels; especially if you had the volume control on the sub cranked to more than 70%. I'd recommend keeping the volume control at 70% or less on the sub, and use the sound cards volume control widget under Windows to control your volume.
Let's face it; its not an audiophile's dream, but it does a surprisingly decent job of playing music.
