3Dlabs today announced that Creative Technology, has increased its investment in 3Dlabs in the form of a five-year convertible subordinated note in the principal amount of $7.5 million. Creative, who has been a shareholder since 1994, owns approximately 1.8 million shares of 3Dlabs.``We are pleased to extend our long-standing relationship with 3Dlabs with this additional investment,'' said Hock Leow, chief technology officer at Creative. ``We have always regarded 3Dlabs as a close development partner and we look forward to continuing our relationship.''
``When we first established our relationship with Creative six years ago, we were impressed with their far-ranging vision,'' said Osman Kent, president and CEO of 3Dlabs. ``We are pleased with this increased investment which will help leverage our intellectual property in emerging Internet applications.''
