3DNow!
Some differences are clear to see just looking at the board. Aswell as the now traditional combination of AGP, PCI and ISA slots, Asus chose to include an AMR slot. This seems like a strange choice, especially since the board comes with optional onboard audio, and including the AMR sacrifices the option of a 6th PCI slot, but there's no accounting for taste. The real differences however, are the other features this board offers. Firstly you actually DO have the option to overclock with this board. The Front Side Bus options available are: 90, 95, then 100 to 125 in 1 Mhz increments, 133, 140 and 150 Mhz. Most users are able to stably overclock to 110 mhz. Even with a 500 Mhz Athlon this is an increase of 50 Mhz, which equates to a saving of over £50 when compared to buying a 550 Mhz chip. If you add to this the ability to change CPU voltage, I/O voltage and RAM timing, you have the best Athlon board currently available.
