Install instructions: Extract the Vortex 2 Windows 9x 4.06.2048.14 beta reference drivers to a temporary directory Go to Add/Remove in the control panel and remove the old sound card drivers The uninstall entry should be called Aureal Vortex AU8830 or the name of the sound card Reboot and point Windows 9x to the temporary directory when it asks for drivers Wait until the Aureal icon shows up in the system tray to make sure the beta reference drivers are completely installed, this can take several minutes. Delete all a3dapi.dll files except the one in /Windows/System/ to make sure all games are using the Aureal A3D3 drivers.
In ieder geval positief om te horen dat er daadwerkelijk gewerkt wordt aan EAX support voor de Vortex II drivers. Na een jaar van beloftes heeft Aureal op dit gebied nog bijzonder weinig (= zero) resultaten laten zien.
