The card definitely performs to spec. It handled virtually every test faster than a single hard drive could. I would say that this is the fastest setup I've seen so far. I didn't time the Windows boot up but it did go quicker, shutdown as well. The installation process was also quick and easy. The manual that came with this baby is very detailed.Really, for the performance you get, the price of the setup is well worth it. For 4 13.5 GB IBM HDs ($135 each) and the card ($122), it would cost $662. These prices here are taken from price watch. Now that's 54 GBs of space with three times the performance of a single drive. A similar SCSI solution would cost upwards of $1000+.
And just in time for the holidays, this card can make a great gift for that performance hungry loved one of yours. Also, I can already support up to 8 IDE devices with the BP6, and now I can put up to 4 more hard drives in here. The expansion possibilities this card brings is great if you've used up all your available channels. It can even coexist with your SCSI card, if you have one, or another FastTrak66.
