I got a chance to take a look at a modified Athlon from Mark Sorensen at Trinity Micro. I was pretty excited to have a opportunity to see what an Athlon would really overclock to. Until now to overclock your Athlon you had to take a soldering iron to it. Right!!! Or there is the K7M mother board out now. Overclocking the FSB has worked well with BX chip sets. We overclocked using only FSB because there was no other way to overclock Intel chips. The preferred method would be to use a combination of FSB, CPU clock multiplier, and voltage. With the Athlon modified by Trinity Micro you can adjust all of these, as well as L2 frequency with out even taking the CPU off the mother board. This done by setting DIP switches Mark has installed.
