Billy van Voodoo Extreme vroeg Human Head Studios, waar men op dit moment de fantasy first person shooter Rune in ontwikkeling heeft, of zij van plan waren iets met T&L te gaan doen:
Yeah, T&L definitely is the latest buzzword, and for good reason. As so many other developers have pointed out, it's gonna have a huge impact on future 3D cards and future engines. I would *LOVE* to have support for T&L out of the box in RUNE, but having it in there depends upon so many different factors. The main one is the lack of T&L cards out there to make it worth our while to support it. But, when you think that RUNE won't be out until next summer, and by then there will be (hopefully) a lot more cards that support it.
We were hoping that UT would have T&L support built in (you know, because us game developers are fundamentally lazy... When I found out that it probably won't, I did an initial pass through the Unreal renderer looking at what areas could majorly benefit from T&L without a major overhaul of the engine. Probably the best place T&L could be used would be in the actor render code for creatures/object/whatever. If we decide to tackle adding T&L support, that would definitely be the first place we would target.
