De Heatsink Guide heeft een vergelijking van vier harddisk coolers gepost. Getest werden de Global WIN IStorm and IStorm II, Global WIN King Kong II, InClose BayCooler II en Cooler Master CoolDrive:
The IStorm II's great performance and innovative design, combined with the alarm feature, make it my personal favourite. It certainly deserves the "Ultimate Cooling product" award, which I had already assigned to the "old" IStorm, reviewed a longer time ago. However, the IStorm also has disadvantages: It sticks out of the case, which some people find ugly, and it is not possible to install two or more IStorms directly over each other. Those who don't like the IStorm should consider the Inclose BayCooler II - I found this unit very convincing; it has great features and a very sturdy metal design. The Cooler Master CoolDrive, with its huge heatsink, is a good choice for those who already have very good case ventilation, and don't need much addidtional airflow from the HDD cooler. Finally, Global WIN's new low end HDD cooling solution, the King Kong II, provides a good price-performance ratio, but isn't necessarily the unit i'd chose.
