De hardware afdeling van Voodoo Extreme heeft een review gepost van de Sonigistix Monsoon MM-1000 flat panel speakers. Hieronder een hap uit de review:
The MM-1000 really shines when that A3D support is turned on. In a quick Unreal 1 botmatch, I could pinpoint the location of the explosions better than any other setup I’ve tried, with the exception of headphones (which simply can’t be beat for positioning). Once again, these speakers have to be heard before you can truly understand the difference in quality. During "earthquakes" the floor rumbled a little less, but you can definitely still feel the explosions, so I’m not complaining.I then switched sound cards to a Voyetra/Turtle Beach Montego II Quadzilla (look for a review soon...) The Quadzilla supports A3D 2.0, which in turn enables wavetracing, and much more realistic environmental effects, such as occlusions, refractions, reflections, etc. With this added depth of realism, it becomes even more critical that the signals reach your ears as in-tact as possible. I’m sure you can guess what I found out. Yep, the MM-1000’s kick ass. Again. Playing Half-Life, those marines’ grenades are much less of a problem when you can hear them hit the ground behind you, just on the other side of that crate...
