Bjorn3D.com heeft een interview gepost met Dwight Diercks, software mannetje van nVidia. Hier een vraag over hardware texture compression support in de GeForce:
Q12: Let's clear up one debate that has been raging on the net. Does the GeForce256 support hardware texture compression (S3's in Dx) or is it done via software?Man, this rumor seems to be gathering momentum. Let's nip it in the bud once and for all. GeForce256 is able to render directly from DXTC compressed textures in either AGP or local memory. This operation is done directly in hardware, without an intermediate decompression stage – decompressed textures are not stored in either AGP or local memory.
