Over a 20% jump in speed. Thats what I call a TurboGL driver. The G400 MAX was still not quite the fastest, but now it is within 10% of the absolute fastest available in 16 bit color, and this is an early beta version. With more tweaking, it has the possibility to beat the others. In 32 bit, its performance went from weak to within 3%, which really shows the power of the G400 chip.In the lower end cards, the G400 regular gets as much of a jump, making it competitive with some of the other high end cards. I must say that this makes the 16mb much more attractive now as its performance is likely the same, and Matrox is selling them via their online store for $149. Definitely a nice buy and it is also upgradeable to video input via the Rainbow Runner G-Series addon, which gives it even more flexibility.
