GA-Source heeft een review van de Diamond Stealth III S540 Xtreme op het net gekwakt. Met de Xtreme is de kloksnelheid van de Savage4 eindelijk naar een redelijk normaal niveau getitlt: 160MHz. Desondanks blijft de performance vooral op hoge resoluties ver achter bij die van de TNT2:
Not too different from my expectations. The Xtreme is a strong card at the lower resolutions, and will lose to almost any other card at higher resolutions. It is sad really, because it definitely gives some of the best visual quality of any card. Something to remember is that the Savage4 was not designed to be the king of chips, rather a solid well featured chip, that everyone could afford.
