Q: Considering the fact that your company (Metabyte) no longer sells Voodoo2 cards, and hasn't ever sold a Voodoo3 card, (for obvious reasons) why did you take the time to develop this new Mini-GL driver?A: This driver was designed primarily to support Quake3 in our eyeSCREAM stereo vision products. Simply put with our own miniGL it was much easier to add stereo support to Q3 than it is with 3dfx's drivers. The second reason is to support Q3 for the users of our Wicked3D boards who want to use our feature rich drivers rather than 3dfx's reference drivers. A modified version of this driver is also a significant part of our PGC technology. And another modification of this miniGL is used in our stereo vision cave technology.
