So how well does it cool my overclocked celeron300a? To perform my testing I took off the computer case so that it doesn't play a part in determining temperature since everyone's computer case has different levels of efficiency in air flow. with the computer case off I began to run several CPU intensive apps such as RC5, Quake3, and Seti@home. With the original OEM heatsink/fan unit temperatures would go as high as 44C during intense CPU crunching and 38C for average use. With the Vantec I never saw higher than 32C with room temperature being around 26C. The image below is from the Asus hardware monitor software with a reading of 29C after a couple of hours with Seti@home running. That's not much higher than room temperature. You can also see that the motherboard sensor actually reading a higher temperature which is a testament to Vantec's cooling powers.
