Q: What do you consider to be the most important new features of version 2.0? Daniel M. Duley: Well, the most obvious is we are using Corba extensively now. For example, our new file manager, Konqueror, can dynamically embed all sorts of small applets, such as image viewers. Thus, when you click on something either locally or via the Internet, KDE can automatically handle it while still in the browser, even if the browser doesn't know how to.A: Other new things include advanced themeing support (including a point-and-click widget theme designer), more I/O capability such as LDAP, ODBC management and integration, and Java and JavaScript support which is in the works.
