110MHz…Wasn't that the speed of video cards that debuted six months ago? Who dropped the ball here? Even relatively conservative Diamond Multimedia set their Savage4Pro-based product at a default level of 125MHz.We can only speculate that in order to keep their profit margins high on a $100 product that Creative has cut a deal with S3 to take what we call the "slop yield" on the Savage4Pro. This means that the chips that fail to sustain 125MHz as tested by S3 at the fab plant are being sold to Creative at a discount price versus the Savage4Pros being sold to other OEMs.
