Sharky Extreme heeft z'n Show Floor Report gepost van de Computex beurs, die momenteel gaande is in Taipei. In het artikel vind je o.a. info over de 3Dfx, nVidia en dit stukje over nieuwe MP3 players:
Diamond's dominance in the portable MP3 market is set to be challenged. Not only has Creative announced their NOMAD but judging by what we saw today, the competition is set to get even stiffer. We counted at least six new MP3 players that were announced. Some from companies that we know well and some from companies we'd never heard of, but one factor was crystal clear- they were all going to be relatively cheap and at least cheaper than anything Diamond or Creative has to offer. The best of the bunch were perhaps Samsung's (yes the same company that makes TVs) two 'Yepp' branded products. No bigger than a business card (58mm x 85mm x 17mm) and weighing in at a paltry 64grams, their MP3 player will come with 40MB (8MB more than the standard RIO) memory. Extra memory cards will also be available. The flashy alloy casing (a deluxe version with an AM Tuner comes in gold) was kind of snazzy in a 'Ford Mustang alloy wheels' kind of way… More importantly Samsung Electronics expects to sell 500,000 units in 1999 and hold a 42% stake in the world market.
Verder weinig opvallend nieuws.
