These results are actually quite surprising to me. The new Matrox and Savage parts BOTH run 32-bit mode at over 80% of the speeds of 16-bit modes. Ummm, wow. Even though they're writing twice the data, they're getting only a 1/5 speed hit. Insane.
The ATI and Matrox G200 are still quite respecible hovering around 70%. The two big disappointments though, are the TNT and TNT2. The TNT gets right around 50%, which should be the bare minimum. The TNT2, though, only gives about an 8-9% efficiency jump as compared to its predecessor. While it is about 15-20% better than the TNT, it pales in comparison to the likes of the G400 and the Savage4. And it's not even as efficient as Matrox's previous card, the G200 or ATI's current one, the Rage 128. Interesting.
