Logitech Gaming mouse review

Gamecenter heeft een review geschreven over de nieuwe gaming mouse over Logitech. Omdat het een USB muis is (wordt ook geleverd met USB-to-PS/2 verloopstuk) heeft hij een hogere report rate dan de normale PS/2 en seriële muizen, wat natuurlijk vooral bij games errug belangrijk is:

USB mice have increased in popularity due to the fact that they report at 120 times per second compared to 40 times per second for a standard PS/2 mouse. This increase in report rate makes aiming much more precise in first-person shooters such as Quake. When used in USB mode, the Gaming Mouse uses the default 120 times per second, but Logitech's drivers allow the user to set the PS/2 report rate up at to 200 times per second. Though there's a free utility called ps2rate available that offers similar functionality, this feature is a real bonus for gamers.

De muis heeft trouwens geen scrollwieltje.

Lijkt een beetje op de mouseman96, die gebruik ik nu ook en die ligt heerlijk in de hand vind ik.
Beter dan de pilot mouse in elk geval

Ja dat klopt, Logitech is uitgegaan van het oude design van hun muizen (zouden de gamers om gevraagd hebben). Een scrollwieltje hebben ze bewust achterwege gelaten:

"Finally, (if there's the possibility of adding a response to the "why is there no wheel?" question) we opted against the wheel for three reasons. 1) The case design that many gamers requested did not have a wheel, and 2) Many people really dislike the wheel, and want only regular buttons. We've gotten a whole bunch of appreciative mail since the announcement of this product, a lot of which was "thanks for not putting a wheel on it." Ik vind dat scroll-wieltje toch erg fijn hoor, maar ja, ieder z'n eigen mening.

Dat programmaatje waar ze het in die review over hebben, die PS2Rate kan ik ook iedereen aanbevelen, want die is ook ERG handig.

Ik vind het ook jammer.
