De mannen van Envy News hebben een review geproduceerd van het Hitachi SuperView CML181SXW LCD-scherm. Dit 18,1" scherm beschikt over een dotpitch van 0,28mm, een contrastratio van 350:1 en een helderheid van 235cd/m^2. De native-resolutie bedraagt 1280 x 1024. De SuperView beschikt zowel over een analoge als een digitale aansluiting (DVI-D). Helaas zijn er geen objectieve tests uitgevoerd, maar uit subjectieve tests is gebleken dat het scherm uitstekende prestaties levert. Het scherm behaalt een score van 88 punten met de volgende conclusie:
The CML181 is not an LCD with all kinds of TV options or bells and whistles. This is an LCD the way I like them; it is used to get all those zeros and ones from your video card into something you can understand and see with your eyes. It has the options of speakers if you decided to connect your sound card to your monitor rather than a set of speakers, which might be a good thing if you work in an office which personally I could take or leave.
With the right amount of time spent in the wonderfully colored and intuitive OSD, you can have yourself a very sharp crisp image that will make CRT's albeit an affordable but dull choice. It has been a few weeks now that I have gone back to my dismal CRT and only now am I starting to be desensitized about the image difference.
