Overall, the Chaintech 9BJA Socket-478 motherboard for the Pentium 4 processor is a promising entry for budget-conscious users who prefer PC133 SDRAM as opposed to the more expensive (but better performing) RDRAM. Bundled with good features and an attractive price tag, the 9BJA will make a fairly user friendly motherboard for both beginners and advance users.
The 9BJA's performance was on-par with the original Intel D845WNL (except for SysMark 2001's Internet Content Creation suite) and was able to handle all the benchmarks thrown at it without problems. Although the engineering sample we tested was based on an early BIOS revision, stability was never an issue. However, we felt that the board could have featured more on-board peripherals such as a 10/100Mbps Ethernet (like the D845WNL) or even a simple IDE RAID controller. Hardcore overclockers might also want to steer away from the 9BJA since it lacks any voltage tweaking controls in the BIOS. But if simplicity is all that you require, the 9BJA will be an attractive buy.
