Op I am not a geek is een review te vinden van de Samsung SM-308. Dit apparaatje bakt CD-R's op 8x, herschrijft op 4x en leest CD's op 32x. Daarnaast is ook mogelijk om DVD'tjes te lezen op 8x.
Op het gebied van branden is de Samsung SM-308 niet echt interessant. Er zijn vandaag de dag veel snellere branders te krijgen. Ook is het ontbreken van een anti-coaster technologie en de schamele 2MB buffer niet iets om over naar huis te schrijven. Alleen als je opzoek bent naar een combo CD-R/RW & DVD-ROM is de Samsung SM-308 iets om te overwegen:

You could get a 8x4x32x CDRW and an 8x DVD separately for almost as cheap, but those are generic drives and they are OEM. You will not get all the stuff that comes with this drive. Now if your honest, to go out an buy Adaptec Easy CD Creator and PowerDVD is going to cost you over $100. The audio cable, IDE cable, CD-R, and CD-RW are probably worth about $15 to $17, unfortunately you can't just steal those off the internet like the software.
