Max Page van FrostyTech heeft zijn review van de Vantec FCE-6030D heatsink on-line gezet. De Vantec bestaat volledig uit aluminium en weegt 230 gram. Op de heatsink zit een dikke Delta 6800RPM fan bevestigd, die zorgt voor een airflow van 37,6 CFM en daarbij 46.5 dBa genereerd.
FrostyTech zou FrostyTech niet zijn als de heatsink niet wordt getest op het FrostyTech Synthetic Temperature Test Platform. De Vantec moest hier ook aan geloven. De Vantec komt binnen op een vijfde plaats tussen de GlobalWin WBK38 (vierde) en de ThermalTake Volcano II (zesde). Hieronder de conclusie:
When you hear the words 'OEM heatsink' it rarely brings to mind any level of very good performance. In fact OEM heatsinks are usually known for using under-powered fans, and offering marginal cooling performance. In this case, Vantec have manufactured a heatsink with the low price point of an OEM heatsink (~$27) and the performance of a very good heatsink. By implementing the high aspect ratio fin design the designers of this heatsink were able to increase the surface area of the fins, lower the weight of the cooler, and produce a compact and very competent cooler. Is the FCE-6030D a high performance cooler? Well not really, but it is a very good cooler with some high performance characteristics. The clip placement and the fan impressed us, but on the same token, the base finish left something to be desired. All in all, the FCE6030D should offer cooling performance which is more than suitable for any Athlon or Duron processor out there.
