A more simplistic, and a one-button testing approach; we can see that Sandra 2001 is really favoring the Quantum Fireball Plus AS. Showing/comparing a lower hard drive performing at a score of 13000. The drive scored an amazing score of 17791! To my knowledge, this is clearly one of the most quickest drives coupled with it's reliability and affordability.
I was completely satisfied with this drive. As I mentioned earlier, acoustics to a drive does has an impact on me, and so does speed. The LM's factor of speed wasn't really a problem, however the noise level was. Eagerly, I anticipated that whenever Quantum would produce the LM's successor, they would improve upon this. And improvement they have. The Fireball AS comes in two different flavors besides the size of the disk you can choose: standard or the hydrodynamic bearing model. So what does this all mean? Well, Quantum has engineered the "Quiet Drive Technology (QDT) paired with Hydrodynamic Bearing (HDB) motors" creating one of the most quietest 7200rpm drives available. Generating less drive acoustics than any other. Making it quieter than a person whispering!
