In MechWarrior 3 the player is a member of one of the Inner Sphere's Houses, leading a series of commando strikes against Clan Smoke Jaguar. Smoke Jaguar, one of the most ruthless factions, was infamous for initiating the orbital bombardment of cities in the early years of the Clan invasion. The game will feature a linear single player campaign with twenty canned missions, a series of training missions, an instant action mode, and multiplayer matches. The game will ship with eighteen pilotable 'Mechs. As in MechCommander, salvage will give the game a rudimentary form of resource management between missions; you'll collect bits and pieces of destroyed enemy units to upgrade your own vehicles.
