Bij FiringSquad is deel 1 van een serie artikelen over de performance van RAM geplaatst. In dit deel gaat de schrijver vooral in op de snelheidverschillen tussen de soorten SDRAM (PC100/PC133 CAS2/CAS3) die op dit moment te koop zijn, maar ook staat er in het begin wat informatie voor mensen die willen gaan overklokken. Misschien niet geschikt voor degenen die thuis al drie waterkoelingen hebben versleten, maar voor de beginnende tweaker een must-read:

[...] While the numbers between all of these setups remains fairly close, we'd still recommend you at least purchase 133MHz memory to go along with that new motherboard you've been looking at. Obviously if you've already got a stick of PC133 CAS 3 it isn't worth upgrading to CAS level 2 unless you've got extra money you're looking to spend.
However, one thing these tests don't reflect is overclocking. We've seen the importance of going with high-quality PC133 CAS 2 memory can make when you're overclocking your processor. From my own personal experience, I purchased a stick of high-quality PC100 memory just over two years ago. It lasted me all the way up to my old 500E overclocked to 710MHz! (5.0x142).
