SSI Computer kondigt 20GB portable MP3-speler aan

SSI Computer Corp heeft de beschikbaarheid van haar 20GB portable MP3-player aangekondigd. De NEO 25 kan naast MP3 bestanden ook als opslag dienen voor o.a. plaatjes en video files. Naast de 20GB versie van 700 dollar kan er overigens ook gekozen worden voor een 6GB, 12GB of harddiskloze versie. Het apparaat is namelijk compatible met vrijwel alle bestaande notebook harddisks. SSI Computer Corp. announced today the release of NEO 25, the first portable 20GB MP3 player that allows users to, not only, store and listen to over 650 CDs or 8000 songs from MP3 files or CDs in MP3 Format, but the NEO 25 also allows users to store pictures, video, e-mail, presentations, and documents to carry with them.

Mmm, ik wil toch mijn laptop upgraden naar een grotere hardeschijf, dus als ik nou een die van 20 gb koop dan stop ik mijn 4,5 gb in die player.

Volgens mij is een 20 gb hd van die player relatief goedkoop 700-400 = 300 * 2.5 is 750 gulden. Ik werk zelf in de computers en daar is een 12gb laptop schijfje toch al snel F650+.

2 uur aan luisteren met die li-ion batterij is niet al teveel, zeker niet als je er vanuit gaat dat dat ding meer dan 100 uur op kan slaan. Maar ja dat is een beetje een trend tegenwoordig allerlei leuke apparaatjes waarvan de helft van de specs fantastisch is en de andere helft zuigt.

Tevens als je de plaatjes op de site hebt bekeken kun je zien dat dat ding lang niet zo portable is als ik hoopte, dat is nog een best groot ding. Tenminste net iets groter dan een HDD, dus zal ook wel even iets zwaarder zijn, nou mijn nieuwe IBM 45 Gig steek je echt niet ff in je pantalon.

Notebook HD is 2,5" dus die size valt op zich wel mee alleen fuckin' heavy)

Trouwens heel leuk hoor, zo'n portable ding waar je 20 GB op kan stampen, maar de GSM'metjes worden alleen maar lichter, en een HDD is nu niet bepaald het toonbeeld van lichte constructie...

Hoe lang zou je trouwens nodig hebben om 20 GB over de USB bus te pompen ?

Ik denk dat ze Portable bedoelen

20 GB is wel leuk... Maar wat heb je aan 20 gb muziek aan onderweg. Voor je al die 20 gb aan mp3 hebt beluisterd heb je 40 kilo aan batarijen verspeeld. $ 700 is wel een beetje veel geld. Zo'n 6 gb versie is misschien interessanter maar 20 gb is echt een complete over-kill !

Absoluut mee eens.
Een laptop met geluidskaart doet in de auto of trein ook wonderen. Voor de rest steek je het ding to in het stopcontact
Tip voor in de auto: Er zijn speciale bandjes om je cd-speler aan te sluiten. Deze werken ook goed voor je laptop.

Kijk, da's nou een interessant apparaat. Ook al kan ie maar 2 uur spelen op de Li-Ion batterij, je hoeft nog maar zelden je mp3 spelertje te updaten omdat je gewoon alles al bij je hebt. Handig op bv. feestjes met adaptertje (ik gebruik nu een gewone laptop met linux daarvoor - gaat ook heel goed). Maar daarvoor is eigenlijk de NEO-35 meer voor bedoeld. Is tie ook geschikt om bv. aan je dig. camera te knopen met USB?

Waneer is hij in ons landje te koop en hoe duur gaat hij dan kosten.
2 uur speeltijd is dat niet een beetje te weinig?
20gb = +/- 600 uur muziek
600 / 2 = 300 (-1) keer laden voor dat je complete playlist hebt af gespeeld. Niet erg handig op lange tochten

Hij is zonder HD verkrijgbaar voor $349 in Nijmegen. Een oud schijfje heeft iedereen toch nog wel liggen, kan later altijd meer in.
Nu nog ff sparen anders zat er voor dat bedrag allang een andere HD in mijn eigen compu

Zwaar, zwaar, dat valt best mee. Ik dacht ook aan een kilo'tje of 2, maar dat ding weegt maar 12oz = 340 gram (incl. harddrive en batterij). Niet echt vervelend toch? Wel grappig dat er zo'n batterij (ssiamerica.com/images/neo25_pic3.gif ) in gaat van die oude Ben/Motorola.

leuk hoor 600 Hours Music. Dat betekent dus dat je lang moet opblijven om ze allemaal te kunnen afluisteren. Hoop trouwens dat ze niet met 2 batterijen maar 4 uur meedoen dat de Lenoxx Mp3-cd speler wel doet ,want anders ben je toch al zo gauw 600:4 uur=150 en 150 x 2= 300 batterijen ben je dan al kwijt. om al je muziek af te kunnen spelen ben benieuw wat ze hieop gevonden hebben auto accu. ben benieuwd of dit iets gaat worden.
