Thermal compound roundup

The Tech Zone heeft een interessant artikel geplaatst waarin zij thermal compound uit alle prijsklassen vergelijken. Heel handig om te kijken wat voor stuff je nu als beste op je heatsink kan smeren. Best uit de test komt de 'Arctic Silver Thermal Compound' van $13.95 (niet de goedkoopste, maar ook niet de duurste).

The title goes to the Arctic Silver Thermal Compound by a knockout! Although it came out nearly head to head with the CircuitWorks Silver compound, it really had the stamina in the later rounds. This stuff absolutely rocks! The main advantage (other than its thermal conductivity) of this over the two compounds that followed behind it in the rankings is the fact that it’s not electrically conductive. I don’t have any idea how the maker did this… But, it’s not electrically conductive. Usually, with the use of metal oxide based thermal compounds you lose some conductivity as a trade off. But, not so in this case! This is the obvious choice of the high-end compounds I tested. This can also be advantageous when used in peltier cooling applications where extremes in hot and cold are found. With the testing completed and my peltier kit reinstalled, this silver compound really outshines the competition in this category, too. Sometimes it’s true to say, “You get what you pay for.” But, with this compound you get a little more for a little less than it costs for the “other guy.”

of zoiets zou onder MSIE ervoor zorgen dat direct na het laden, een andere site te voorschijn komt, goed voor de hits!

Ah. Eindelijk eens een review wat ook duidelijk uit de doeken doet waarom je een zo dun mogelijk laagje pasta moet smeren..

Goop/heatgrease maakt veel uit en is eigenlijk het eerste wat je moet hebben/kopen als je succesvol wilt overclocken.


Burne: je had het ook natuurlijk op het Forum kunnen zetten. Elke beetje tweaker had je wel antwoord gegeven.

Das het verschil tussen een 600 en een 650 hoor ! Ik bedoel geef dat geld dan uit aan een standaard snellere processor....

Maar het is niet voor 1x! Je kunt met zo'n tube 20-50 CPU's insmeren. Dus als je met een paar vrienden samen doet valt dat best mee.

Je moet het ook zo bekijken: als je als 40-100 piek voor een koeler uitgeeft dan is het zonde om daar goedkope heatgrease tussen te smeren. Heeft dan ook weinig zin.

Het ligt er maar net aan wat je wilt: als je TOCH een nieuw mobo +processor gaat kopen met bijbehorende processor enzo, koop dan gelijk ff heel goede koelprut, kan een boel schelen.

Als je echter alleen het spul gaat kopen om te kijken of je celeron 366 op 124 Mhz FSB wil lopen met de nieuwe koelprut ipv op 112 Mhz met de oude koelprut, is het niet zo verstandig.

ik denk dat ik maar es wat van die zut ga kopen, ik heb op een paar processoren waar ik bij gebrek aan koelpasta gewoon nivea of kogellagervet heb gebruikt

Ik mis de temeratuur die er is zonder een van deze pasta's. Of heb ik hem over het hoofd gezien?
