Creative heeft een nieuwe drivers voor de X-Fi-geluidskaarten uitgebracht. De stuurprogramma's hebben versienummer 2.18.0000 meegekregen en verkeren nog in bètastadium. De nieuwe versie kan door te klikken op deze link voor Windows XP en Windows Vista gedownload worden. De ontwikkelaars van Creative hebben in versie 2.18.0000 beta onder meer een crashbug uit de drivers gehaald. Verder is de ondersteuning van Dolby Digital en DTS weer aangezet in Windows XP. Known Issues:
- Resolves issues of intermittent and random application/system crash when playing games or running applications that use EAX®, DirectSound®, OpenAL and/or ASIO features.
- Resolves issue of volume mapping leading to very soft volume level in systems using Windows Vista with Service Pack 1.
- Resolves issue with distortion and noise occuring in systems with 4 GB of RAM or greater.
- X-Fi CMSS®-3D feature is not available in Windows Vista 64-bit.
